Biography
Silvano Scanziani graduated in Oboe with full marks and honors from the Conservatory of Milan, under the guidance of Giacomo Calderoni.
At 17 he was part of the European Community Youth Orchestra (ECYO), with which he held numerous concerts in major European cities.
As an oboist he won and was awarded in many national and international competitions and collaborated, as 1st Oboe, with the Orchestras of the Teatro alla Scala, of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, of the RAI in Turin, Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, Teatro Regio in Parma and I Solisti Veneti.
He later undertook the study of Composition and, in particular, of the Orchestra Direction with Ludmil Descev.
In 1999 he founded the “I Filarmonici Lombardi” orchestra, of which he is also the principal conductor and with whom he has given concerts in many Italian locations.
He also conducted: the Musici di Parma, the Ettore Pozzoli Philharmonic Orchestra, the Fiati of the Litta Theater, the Fiati of the Conservatory of Piacenza, the Fiati Emiliani and the Fiati Group of the Conservatory of Milan.
Currently, in addition to performing a considerable concert activity, he is a teacher of ensemble music for wind instruments at the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdiā in Milan.
He has made several arrangements and transcriptions for Orchestra and Wind Groups, published by “Da Vinci Publishing”.
